What a surprise I got myself into!!
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3349/3250771036_4106f9ce6c.jpgFor an individual who isn't trying to lose weight, they should intake between 130-230 carbohydrates a day. My goal for yesterday was to intake at least 20 more carbohydrates than the average diet. Starting my day off light, I ate raisin bran cereal, which has 45 grams of carbs and a strarbucks blueberry muffin which has 59 grams of carbs. Raisin bran is one of my favorite cereals. Its crunchy and sweet ,but not too sweet, taste is quite hearty for the soul. I wanted more of the Raisin Bran, bt So, for just those two breakfast foods, I ate 104 CARBS! Wow, that is was a large amount just for breakfast! Breakfast was only 104 carbs, wait until I mention my lunch and dinner.
For lunch, I had Cheesy Hash brown Hamburger Helper. Boy was this yummy! It had this nice cream texture, but strong in flavors, especially with the added beef. The overall carbs in this dish is 37 carbs!! As a drink I had an Orange Fanta. By adding my breakfast and lunch together, I had a total of 171 carbs.!! Well, after I started doing the calculations for my carbs, I realized that I didn't get as much as I expected. However, I was disappointed by the food options I made! For dinner, I went all the way out of my way to make sure I gained at least 200 carbs.
These items above is what I ate for dinner. First, I had a Totino's Pepperoni Classic Pizza, which was absolutely delicious! It had 34 carbs. Since I love gave up chips for Lent, I decided to definitely challenge myself by eating a bag. I been wanting to do this for the past few weeks of Lent. The Cheetos Cheddar Jalapeno chips were 15 carbs. Lastly, I needed a delicious but hearty drink to help dissolve my "heavy" meal. Borden's whole milk was 11 grams per serving After adding all my carbs together I got a total of 231! Wow! That's what I said when I realized I only went over my carbs by 1. I was quite disappointed I felt like I ate like a pig for my last meal to at least get over by ten points!
Even though it wouldn't be hard for me to go over m estimated carbs a day, I wouldn't recommend this diet to anyone. Not because it is quite unhealthy, but because it's challenging to stick to a high carb diet. That means that the person would have to eat all day long to get at least 270 carbs. Eating too many foods can cause more problems rather than an increase in carbs.
